Production plant

Sell-Plast S.r.l.’s production plant extends over 6,000 m2 and is located in Torrazza Piemonte (TO). The plant is divided into four main departments:

The Thermoforming department

4 thermoforming machines, 3 of which were implemented in 2016, with an automatic loading station for plastic sheets

Cutting Department

4 cutting robots – including one with 5 axes purchased in 2016 – to cut out thermoformed plates according to specific customer requirements.

The Logistics Department

Sell-Plast’s logistics department covers a warehouse area of more than 2,000 sqm. It is divided into a vertical warehouse for raw materials and moulds and two horizontal warehouses to stock finished products ready for shipment and recycled material that is reintroduced into the production cycle of partner companies

Technical department

A department specialized in research, development and industrialization of new products. Currently the company has a CAD/CAM programming workstation within the department. The future development plan foresees a strengthening of the R&D area investing in personnel, equipment and instruments

Faro® 3D Arm

The CAM2 Scan Arm Quantum combines the measurement capability of a CAM2 Arm® portable coordinate measuring machine (CMM) with the non-contact functionality of a scanning probe. X-Rite® Spectrophotometer

The X-Rite Spectrophotometer is a device that allows to measure the colour uniformity of processed plastic materials at all stages of the production cycle, verifying its uniformity throughout the manufacturing process..

Glossometer

It is an instrument used to measure the specular reflection (gloss) of processed products. This is calculated by projecting a beam of light at a fixed intensity and angle on the thermoformed product to measure the amount of light reflected at an equal but opposite angle..

Recycling

The company promotes sustainable conduct both internally and externally in its business by supporting and promoting initiatives and projects related to this issue. Sell-Plast’s medium-term goal is to make a positive contribution to its customers’ sustainability rating by providing them with environmentally sustainable solutions..

The company is currently able to recycle 95% of production material waste that is fed back into the industry value chain. Production scraps are processed internally and transferred to companies that specialize in processing and recycling these plastic materials. Sell-Plast’s goal is to encourage a circular economy in the sector to limit the pollution that results from the dispersion and accumulation of plastic materials in the environment..
